Terbina fine hydrochloride is the scientific name of the medicine called Lamisil in different parts of the world like: Canada, Argentina, Australia, United Kingdom, and United States, Russia and Germany. It is a synthetic ally amine antifungal. It is highly lipophilic in nature and has the property to accumulate in the skin, nails and fatty tissues. In Australia this has been sold generically by the name Zabel whereas it is considered to be a generic medicine in United States, United Kingdom and Belgium and Switzerland. As Lamisil belongs to the class of antifungal, it has been used for the treatment of certain types of fungal infections of the skin and nails. One should not start taking this medicine without consulting the doctors because generally people are not aware of the Lamisil side effects and these medicine shows its affects differently on everyone using it. Lamisil has been available in three different forms:

  1. Tablets: Doctors mostly recommend 250 Mg tablet daily for adults. The length of the treatment depends upon the condition of the infection.  The people who are having liver or kidney problem the medication dose will be adjusted for them.
  2. Cream:  The cream form of Lamisil has been recommended to be used twice or thrice daily on the infected area.
  3. Spray: Use the spray daily twice or thrice depending upon the condition of infection.

There are several factors which depend upon the dose of the medication or the length of the treatment some of those factors are: weight of the person using this medicine, if he is taking some medications with it or not, the other medical condition of the person who is taking this medicine.

Lamisil is most effective medicine for dermatophytes group of Fungi. This medicine in cream form is very effective for skin infections such as Jock Itch, Athlete’s Foot, and other types of ringworms. The tablet form has been prescribed for the treatment of infections related to nail infections, as the nail infection mostly located deep inside the nail. The US food and drug administration has been approved Lamisil for the treatment of infections, it is safe to be used for the children 4 and up. Like other medicine, there are many side effects which have been reported with use of Lamisil.

The Lamisil side effects possibly may cause due to the extensive use of the medicine, or the extensive misdistribution of the medicine. Following are the lamisil side effects which could be caused and the used should be aware of them and should consult the doctor when any of the one appears by Lamisil usage:

  1. Gastrointestinal problem: it includes diarrhea, nausea, and constipation.
  2. Central Nervous system or Neurological problem, it includes decreased concentration lever, headaches, and light headedness.
  3. Hepatic Problem: includes raised liver enzymes and liver damage.
  4. Immune system Problem: it decreases white blood cells in the body.
  5. Psychological Problem: it includes depression, anxiety.
  6. Sensory Problem: Complete loss of taste, decreased taste, visual disturbance could also caused by the over dose of Lamisil.
  7. Skin problem: rashes, hives, skin irritation.
  8. Other Fatigue: the excessive use of medicine could cause other problems like: increased heart rate, hair loss, decreased red blood cells in the body.
